All in a Saturday

We spent the majority of the weekend enjoying the beautiful fall like weather. Saturday morning we ventured out to find a nature preserve so the boys could go fishing, only to find out that the nature preserve no longer exists. A jogger near by pointed us in the direction of a pond in the subdivision, so that is where we fished. Funny thing is that we have a very nice pond in our own subdivision that we fish in, so it really was no different. D was excited to fish and did catch a small one which added to his excitement. This was C's first time out and he had a hard time getting the hang of casting his little Lightening McQueen rod, but did enjoy feeding the ducks with mom.
That same afternoon we drove to one of my favorite parks. It has a great nature center for the kids and incredible hiking trails along the river. It also ranks high on the kids favorite places as it has an awesome playground. It was just one of the those great family days, topped off with dinner from our favorite Chinese take out. Sweet and sour chicken, chop sticks, and fortune cookies are always a hit with my boys.
